The tragic story, myths and legends of the Titanic have fascinated people for generations. Many books and a number of films have told the tragic story over the years and this unique tour to Belfast will tell you the full story of its building in 1911 and its sinking on the 15th April 1912 after hitting an iceberg. On this day 1,517 people lost their lives and earned an immortal place in history which the public seem unable to forget.
Your host and guide is broadcaster and journalist Susie Millar, whose great grandfather Tommy Millar worked in Harland & Wolff building the RMS Titanic and then sailed on her maiden voyage in 1912 as a crewmember. Her new book "The Two Pennies" tells the story of the Millar family and their links with RMS Titanic. Guest speakers include author and historian of the Titanic Society Stephen Cameron and Alison Murphy, editor of CQD, Belfast's Titanic Society Magazine.
