The hotel was excellent for location and superb breakfast buffet but lacked atmosphere - no lounge to meet as a group and have a drink or to sit comfortably and read a book away from the bedroom where the lighting was poor. Rather grey weather spoilt some excursions. Would have liked longer at Baden Baden.

This was a new Christmas tour which we would recommend. It was centrally based in Freiburg close to the main amenities and there was a good choice of bars and places to eat and before Christmas a vibrant market. The meal arrangements worked well allowing the opportunity and flexibility to get out in the evening and the two Christmas meals in a local restaurant really made it a festive occasion. The trips out were easy paced with no very early starts and both the tour manager Steve and coach driver Oscar worked the itinerary to suit the weather conditions. In some respects we were lucky with the weather-had it been cold, icy and snowy then a couple of the trips might have been challenging. All in all another good experience and we have no hesitation in recommending this to other travellers who like these types of holiday.

This was out 9th or so year of doing a Travel Editions Xmas tour, and we were, as usual, very happy with it. Steve, the guide, was amusing and unflappable - I hope he's doing another of our tours in future. Thanks.
