Day 1: Travel by Eurostar from St Pancras or Ebbsfleet to Paris and onwards to Montpellier by TGV. On arrival, transfer by foot to the hotel.
Day 2: Morning in Montpellier with afternoon visits to Pézenas and Sète.
Capital of the Languedoc region, Montpellier is a dynamic, lively city, renowned for its cultural life and many students which matriculate at its 13th century university. Pézenas is a charming little market town, full of lovely old mansions and quaint courtyards – perfect for an afternoon stroll. Sète is France’s largest fishing port and a lively seaside resort. With a strong cultural identity of its own, which includes a fine cuisine, eating in a restaurant along the royal canal is a must.
Day 3: Full day tour to Carcassonne and Narbonne.
The Cité de Carcassonne is a dramatic sight, a walled fortress crowned with fairy tale turrets perched above the River Aude. The walled city, some parts of which date back to the 5th century was extensively restored in 1853. A major city during Roman times Narbonne’s delightful, restored, medieval centre is the where you’ll find the majority of its sites. These include the impressive 13th century Cathédrale Saint-Just et Saint-Pasteur and the Archbishop’s Palace.
Day 4: Full day to relax and explore Montpellier at your leisure.
Our hotel is located just off the main square, Place de la Comédie, which leads into the atmospheric historic centre. This area is filled with lovely squares, grand 17th and 18th century mansions and plenty of restaurants. You are also just a short walk from Montpellier’s cathedral, the Sun King’s triumphal arch and the Promenade Peyrou. A visit to the Musée Fabre, said to be the best gallery in southern France is a must.
Day 5: Full day tour to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and the Millau Viaduct.
Sitting pretty in a ravine off the Hérault River, Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert is a breath-taking village of old honey-coloured, tiled houses gathered around the 12th-century Abbaye de Gelone. Hailed as an engineering masterpiece of the 21st century, the Lord Norman Fosterdesigned Millau Viaduct stretches 1.5 miles over the Tarn River valley, a ‘sculpture in the landscape’.
Day 6: Full day tour to Nîmes, Aigues-Mortes and the Camargue.
Nîmes is home to some of Europe’s most extensive Roman ruins, including a 1st century Roman arena. The wonderfully preserved walled city of Aigues-Mortes (Place of Dead Waters) is approached across the salt marshes of the Petit Camargue. It was from here, before the city became marooned three miles from the sea, that Louis IX twice departed for the Crusades. An area of outstanding natural beauty, the Camargue is a nature-lover’s paradise, famed for its flamingos and white horses.
Day 7: Transfer by foot back to Montpellier station to catch the return TGV to Paris. At Paris, board the return Eurostar service to Ebbsfleet or St Pancras.
NB: Exact order of itinerary may vary according to local conditions and tour manager's discretion.
Please note the maximum group size on this tour is 35 passengers.

Overall, a very enjoyable holiday although it was affected by an attack of gastroenteritis suffered by my wife and several other members of the group as well as heavy rain all day for the excursion to Nimes and Aigues-Mortes. The travel arrangements went very well and seating the group together for each part of the journey helped us to get to know fellow travellers, although a meal together on the first evening would have been a useful ice-breaker. One other thing missing from a visit to an area in the South of France renowned for its wine making was - a wine tasting!
Review by Middleyard who travelled 05-September-2019
Confirming the above ratings, all aspects of the tour were very good, even those aspects out of your control, i.e. Eurostar and TGV.
Review by Cook who travelled 05-September-2019
There was a severe lack of hanging space in the bedroom at the hotel which was otherwise excellent. Pulling our luggage was also difficult because of the walking distance to and from the coach in Paris, and to and from the station to the hotel .
Review by Gant who travelled 05-September-2019
All we could have hoped for, with a good combination of free time and well-planned tours: even the one wet day did not spoil the excellent drive through the Camargue. Angela Minton was a first-class tour manager - the right mixture of efficiency, care and expert knowledge (though this is something we have come to expect from Travel Editions!)
Review by Anonymous who travelled 05-September-2019
I loved this tour and was slightly disappointed not to have had a lecturer but realised that this was not part of this type of tour, but seeing and visiting very beautiful and interesting places. However I do prefer the Art History Tours like the Ravenna and Bologna one with a lecturer and will in future book this kind of tours with you.
Review by Bierau who travelled 05-September-2019
Unfortunately the heavy rain and flooding cause some sightseeing trips to be cancelled or cut short. This was however well managed by our tour guide who had our safety as priority. We had to move hotel rooms twice. The first time the room was occupied,we were then given a very sub-standard room which we managed to change. Better luck next time !

Review by Plumb who travelled 30-May-2019
A very enjoyable holiday led by a thoughtful and knowledgeable tour manager. Angela's knowledge of the area was exceptional and shared with us through a fund of entertaining stories and easily digestible information. Every day was thoughtfully managed and you always felt safe in her hands. Impressive! Even her singing is coming on....
Review by Plumb who travelled 30-May-2019
We felt it was too much to try to cram Narbonne and Carcassonne into the same day, the morning in Carcassonne was too short to explore and have a quick lunch. Our coach drivers were safe and helpful. The evening in Sete was a delight, maybe more of this timing would be possible. Ask Angela!! We would have preferred a room at the back of the hotel, away from the road, Air Con is ok but open windows much preferred. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the trip immensely and our enthusiastic Tour Manager, Angela, was a great host.
Review by Bowen who travelled 30-May-2019
The city centre location of the hotel which while really excellent meant a 'trek' to collect and return from the coach. A little onerous for my less able self. Although getting from the station was mentioned, this daily walk to the coach was not in your literature. The tour manager, Angela was an excellent guide. Her care and concern for our well-being was most obvious.
Review by Staten who travelled 30-May-2019
Angela, our guide, was wonderful and we all had a great time. Good mix of trips and time off. Hotel excellent in terms of facilities and convenience of location.
Review by Horsnell who travelled 30-May-2019
The tour manager, Angela Minton, is very knowledgeable about the area and she imparted information in a restrained and acceptable manner. She was also good at shepherding her flock, keeping us in order without being at all overbearing. We would have preferred an outing to Marseille rather than to Carcassonne which resembles too much a 'Disney' creation full of tatty shops, bars and cafés, but that may be difficult to arrange. Altogether, the holiday was very enjoyable and good value.

Did not need so many places to visit. The medieval towns visited were excellent and we felt that more time could have been spent there. Perhaps an earlier start each day would have been an answer.

This was an introduction to Travel Editions which proved to be an excellent decision. We have always sourced our own hotels, places of interest and driven through Europe in our own car or by air and hired car. This trip has signalled an end to air travel, the Eurostar and TGV trains to Montpellier, convinced us that the stress free comfort and ability for the driver to appreciate the scenery and the reduction of several overnight stays was worthwhile. Alex, the tour manager was an added blessing, friendly and amusing and well informed, ensuring that everyone was included and enjoying the Languedoc-Roussillon tour. The whole tour was well planned and included a variety of daily trips carried out at a leisurely pace and reasonable start times in the mornings. We will definitely be planning more tours with Travel Editions in the future.

We were surprised that the 4* hotel had no porterage service. We would have preferred longer in Aigues-Mortes, Saint Guillem and Narbonne and less in Nimes and over-commercialised Carcassonne.
Review by Raymond who travelled 31-May-2018
This was our first guided tour and everything was satisfactory: our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, good at throwing new light on recent history. We enjoyed visiting the sites chosen, certain of which will live in the memory.
Review by Barnes who travelled 02-November-2017
Overall a good holiday. Lovely hotel in an excellent position which would have been made perfect with tea and coffee facilities in the room. Very pleasant staff. We were disappointed not to see Sete as we arrived and left in the dark. We should have left from Montpellier earlier in the day.
Review by Albutt who travelled 02-November-2017
The places within reasonable reach of Montpelier had been well chosen to offer insights into the area. There were surprises and hidden places to explore. Millau Viaduct was a splendid modern sight across the huge Tarn valley. I appreciate the maps in the brochure. Set against this was the disappointment of Carcassone which is a tourist magnet and naturally for the French. We went on Saturday and the place was packed - many people going for the shops and meals. There was little there to enlarge on the history of this religious feud and deadly outcomes. We could have been told that it was 9 euros to enter the castle/keep, but the queue was very lengthy. Someone said there was nothing much inside. I feel we could have had an improved introduction to The Cathars unique history on the coach. Primarily I think Saturday was the wrong day for this visit. We also had a visit to Sete but had an initial ride round the town, then up to St Claires for the panorama and then down again into Sete through heavy traffic leaving little time. If we had driven up St Claires Hill first and then down into Sete we could have had far more time to explore on foot and then find a spot for the aperitif. Others commented on this too. Too long in the coach. With adjustments to these two trips it could be really good!
Review by Lapish who travelled 07-September-2017
All arrangements went smoothly. Location (Montpellier) well chosen both for the city itself and for the range of excursions: hotel of very good standard and well placed. Our guide (Geraldine) was efficient and personable.
Review by Walker who travelled 07-September-2017
Geraldine leClerq made this a very enjoyable experience. Her style is sensitive to people and places and her observations during coach touring made journeys interesting. She dealt with the unexpected with calm efficiency, assisted by her fluent French when negotiating with 'locals'.

Our Guide Alex was excellent, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly. Only downside was re-arranging of days so we missed entry to Amphitheatre at Nimes.
Review by Mr H Caldicott who travelled 04-October-2016
We would have preferred a quick guided walking tour tour round the towns we visited and then left to our own devices for the rest of the day (or part thereof) as we have come to expect from other travel companies. We think the your brochure should have made it clear what was/was not provided - and the maps provided in advance were much too small. Secondly we thought that too many locations were included. We'd have preferred more time in fewer places (eg whole days in Carcasonne and the Camargue, including a boat trip.)

Our tour manager, Alex, was a delight and so informative! This was a wonderful holiday and Montpellier is such a lively and interesting place to have as a base. I think we could have done with more time in Pezanas and I dont think we got much out of Narbonne (though that may have been the weather!)

Review by Mr Michael Mills who travelled 04-October-2016
We appreciated the excellent standard of the hotel. The staff, the breakfasts, and the quality of the rooms were all beyond our expectations. However, we felt that the description in Travel Editions’ Tour Information saying that the hotel was a “short walk” from the station was misleading. It was further than the 200m stated and was uphill. This was a problem at the end of a long, tiring journey on a hot day. Given that the group was quite large (40 people) we would have appreciated the opportunity to have an informal gathering with our fellow travellers near the beginning of the holiday so that we could get to know them. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed with the quality of the service given by the Tour Manager, John Crawford. We understand that his role wasn’t to be a guide, but he didn’t give the support which we have experienced on holidays with Travel Editions and other companies. He often omitted to give clear directions and information which sometimes led to confusion. Although we believe John stayed at the same hotel as we did, he was not in evidence until we boarded the coach except for the “free day” when we saw him eating his breakfast. On other holidays the Tour Manager has made a point of checking informally that all was well with individuals but this didn’t happen on this holiday. He was also very reluctant to give anyone his mobile phone number which could be used in an emergency and only grudgingly did so on the penultimate day of the holiday. Consequently we do not feel that the welfare of individuals was of importance to him.

This was our 5th holiday with you and as usual we were happy with Travel Editions. Our only slight disappointment was a drive around the hotels at La Grand Motte, on the Camargue day, when we felt a visit to St Marie de la Mer might have been more interesting. However major praise to Angela for the inspired visit to Sete, where we were able to have dinner. I have visited Sete on numerous occasions and this is the first first I have seen the water jousing, so very pleased with that. Angela is a well informed manager and good company.

Review by Mrs M Reddoch who travelled 24-August-2016
Would have liked fairer allocation of train seats. Had a table seat on both long journeys. Other passengers had duo seats each way in same carriage. Too much time at Millau bridge. Suggest stop at La Couvertoiade or Roquefort which are nearby. Nice hotel.
Review by Mr David Bradley who travelled 24-August-2016
Although the standard of rooms and breakfast was excellent, we were not entirely happy with the location of the hotel and felt it was more an "overnight" business venue rather than a holiday hotel. Walking from the station on arrival and into Montpellier each evening for a meal, from the hotel, was not entirely satisfactory. As most of the clients on the tour were, like us, of the older generation we think perhaps arranging visits to two locations each day could be cut to one, on one day at least, giving less rush and more time for visiting, for example, interesting places like Pezenas or St Guilhem le Desert with time to take in a walk. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip with you. Thank you.
Review by Mrs Veronica Smith who travelled 16-June-2016
Too much motorway coach travel - particularly to the Millau Bridge. Would have preferred generally to have spent more time in one town/village than visit two in a day, as we like to walk and explore. Appreciate this is very subjective. We were probably more active than most. Excellent value for money, great organisation. Liked being sent tickets in advance. Felt more of a traveller. Thank you.
Review by Mrs E Lord who travelled 16-June-2016
The only suggestion I would make, perhaps too long waiting in cafes at tour sites-when perhaps people were ready to go back the hotel. Get some extra early rest before going out again for evening meal.

Review by Mr Arthur Forman who travelled 16-June-2016
Arrival at Hotel Pullman was made difficult as the manager did not know the new hotel and his satnav was not reliable. The company could have provided precise instructions. Fortunately the weather was fine as we had to trundle our cases across tram lines and pavements for half a mile. On previous tours we have been given more information about the places visited, prior to arriving. One cannot expect encyclopedic knowledge of all managers, but the company could provide concise information to be handed out. It was good to have maps in advance for three places.
Review by Mr Jeffrey Allinson who travelled 16-June-2016
Steve was a relaxed and efficient tour manager. The Pullman hotel exceeded our expectations. Montpellier is a lovely town to wander around with good restaurants. Our main complaint was too much coaching to see the Millau Viaduct

Angela was very good in arranging our return journey as we were caught up in the French rail strike. As our tickets were for Ebbsfleet Eurostar were very good in arranging our return trip from St. Pancras to Ebbsfleet and all the staff involved were very helpful.
Review by Mrs Claire Palmer who travelled 27-May-2016
Very comfortable hotel with excellent breakfast. Perhaps less time on coach and longer at places of interest (Nimes for instance) would be better- we felt very rushed sometimes as visits often included having to find somewhere to eat. Rail strike made travel back to UK difficult but Angela managed situation brilliantly and we were only one hour late overall. Thank you!
Review by Mrs Susan Linsdell who travelled 27-May-2016
French rail strike made travel home difficult but tour manager Angela was magnificent in the way she handled a very difficult situation. I gather it is possible to stay an extra few days at the resort hotel which was excellent and possibly a night in Paris - this we would have welcomed though on this particular trip we greatly valued Angela's expertise and leadership on the return rail trip because of the rail strike.
Review by Mr John Jones who travelled 27-May-2016
In the circumstances Angela was for ever cheerful, and managed the party extremely well. Only one hour late back to England amazing. The hotel was much better than I expected, would stay there again. Beds very comfortable. List of guest names would have been helpful. Taxi to and from station option would have been appreciated. Would have used a flight option if available.
Review by Mrs C Hayward who travelled 27-May-2016

We found the location of the hotel ideal. We could walk a short distance to the town centre. Though the hotel has seen better days--room carpets, ensuite--we were very happy with it, and the breakfast was excellent. We would also like to commend our guide, Alex Patrimonio. Tours were great (though would have liked longer in Carcassonne) and overall it was extremely good value for money.
Review by Mrs Sally Watts who travelled 27-August-2015
As an 'information holiday' it was a disappointment, a tour without focus. The history of the region or the Cathars hardly mentioned. We frequently heard it was the largest wine producing area in Europe but a visit to a vineyard plus wine tasting would have been welcome. We chose Travel Editions again as we had thoroughly enjoyed Art of the Netherlands last year, where the whole experience was enhanced by an interested, involved and very knowledgeable tour manager.

Review by Mr Derek Motyer who travelled 01-July-2015
Tour manager approachable and informative. Hotel comfortable with good breakfast selection, staff friendly and helpful. Tours very enjoyable. Just the right pace with having time to relax as well.
Review by Beck who travelled 01-June-2015
This well established tour is well planned and timed. Weather and delayed Eurostar journey outside the scope of tour manager who was a distinct asset. The friend I was with had to see a pharmacist and doctor. Tour manager dealt with this tactfully and efficiently and deserves praise.
Review by Mrs Ann Longrigg who travelled 09-June-2015
Karen Blackwell was an excellent Tour Manager and she made the tour an all round good experience. She attended to us very well on the train journeys. We thought the Hotel Oceania Montpellier was very good and the staff attentive and helpful.

The only down side we had was that, once again, we were unable to travel with the rest of the group on the trains. We hope to travel with you next year and will also hope to be with other members of the group on the journey to our destination. Our tour manager was great, full of information and witty comments. The hotel was lovely, clean and helpful staff.

Terrific location and standard of hotel. Good choice of places to visit. Karen is an excellent guide, and we have been with her three times!
Review by Mr Derrick Moore who travelled 21-May-2015
Given the historic importance of the Cathars in the area, a tour of the Cathar castles would have been more relevant and interesting than Penzenas and Sete. The stop in the town of Millau also could have been missed, as there was nothing of interest there. It would be more ideal to travel directly to St Guilhem-le-Desert for lunch. The latter was a far more interesting location and we could have had more time to explore. Otherwise the tour was well balanced, Karen was an excellent tour manager, very attentive to our needs. The hotel was a delight, we loved the atmosphere, comfort and helpful staff. We would recommend the tour to anyone interested in that area of France.

We had a most enjoyable time overall and considered the trip good value. Things that might have been better were; (1) Programme- visit to Carcassonne - would have preferred less time there. (2) would have preferred not to have had to transfer in Paris especially on homeward leg. Awaiting Eurostar at Gare du Nord has become quite crowded and unpleasant.

Really enjoyed the holiday. change over at Lille rather than Paris would be better but appreciate this may be upto SNCF and out of your hands

wish I had had the courage to use the carry my luggage service as the train entailed a great deal of walking. The hotel was well sited &comfortable.Angela was an excellent guide without overloading us with information.all v enjoyable.
Review by Mrs Elizabeth Watson who travelled 07-May-2015
A wonderful first experience for us which we definitely anticipate repeating! The balance between being organised and having freedom to choose was just right. A little more information about how to get to the beach on the free day would have saved a long walk! Just one small suggestion - all the trips were exclusively coach. Particularly at Aigue-Mort several of us thought it might have been nice if we could have taken the boat trip available. I would personally have liked a little more of the Camargue and that might have enabled it. But overall - thank you very much for an excellent holiday.

Great trip to an interesting part of France. Very well informed, kind and charming Tour Manager with an original sense of humour and a nice, relaxed manner. He added a friendly dimension to everything we did.

The effect of Armistice Day on tuesday, closed many places for the three days before, even Hotel cancelled evening Dinner service. Still enjoyed the holiday.
Review by Mr Reginald Walker who travelled 06-November-2014
A thoroughly enjoyable experience with a very knowledgeable tour guide who not only informed us with history of the region but also entertained us. My only grudge is the single supplement fee that may deter me from using travel editions in the future sadly.
Review by Miss Audrey Mccormack who travelled 06-November-2014
As usual more time at most locations would have been preferred but with day light hours being short and much to see it was understandable. On previous tours the group gelled much quicker because each night we all sat for dinner together. However on a B&B situation this can't happen. I would suggest that the fist evening and last all should sit together for dinner either in or away from the hotel. A very good holiday doing it all promised in advert.
Review by Mr William Local who travelled 06-November-2014
Excellent Tour Guide, professional and knowledgeable. Would happily join another tour if she were to be the guide! Any way of letting us know which tours in the future she will be the guide?
Review by Mr John Smith who travelled 09-October-2014
A very enjoyable holiday. It was a large group & all went well because rep Angela always works so hard & is very experienced. She gives out so much information & arranges little extras just as if she was a close friend of everyone. However think that less experienced person would not have been as capable with such a big group. Our hotel room was quiet as requested but was 'very tired'.
Review by Mrs Norma Dicker who travelled 09-October-2014
This was a last minute 'where shall we go' holiday which turned out to be really enjoyable, not least because of Angela's tour guide skills. And the local restaurants, of course.

Alex the tour guide was excellent in all respects and the best we have had on several of your tours
Review by Mr Donald Ritchie who travelled 25-September-2014
Possibly the best of the 8 tours we have been on despite the severe weather which affected the tour programme slightly. Would have liked to see more of Aigues-Mortes so will have to do this tour again in the future. Having a French guide (Alex) was a bonus and by giving the "French" way of looking at things added greatly to our enjoyment of the tour.
Review by Mr Godfrey Wall who travelled 25-September-2014
Some of the excursions involved long coach journeys on motorway type roads, which was tedious. Also, I would have liked town plans before each visit and an idea of what each town had to offer.
Review by Mrs Diana Gawne who travelled 25-September-2014
Really enjoyable trip and Alex was very good. We felt that 46 was rather a lot of people for him to cope with but he did a remarkable job and was utterly charming and cheerful throughout.
Review by Mrs Christine Sutton who travelled 25-September-2014
The right balance of organised trips and free time. The tour manager was engaging, knowledgeable, communicative and set a relaxed friendly atmosphere which enhaunced the enjoyment of the holiday.

The floods in Montpellier meant we couldn't do all tours as planned but Alex did his best in a difficult situation. 1.5 hours in Sete was too long.

Norman was an excellent Tour Manager - he will be hard to live up to in the future. The hotel staff were all helpful but there should be fridges in the bedrooms. There were potential difficulties with cramming 40 people onto a TGV during a 5 minute train stop but Norman was careful to ensure the stress was minimised. What a pity the French fill their historic places with tourist shops and cafes so that all atmosphere in lost. If Travel Editions could include private visits, say, to a rice farm or vineyard that would create a better sense of place. Norman did his best!

Review by Mrs Jennifer Eckersley who travelled 28-August-2014
The tour description in brochure did not do justice to the holiday. It was much , much better than that. The hotel was superb & food excellent. Montpellier is good base. Would like to have visited more in the way of local markets to sample the culture of the area. Less time on the coach perhaps ? Languedoc is an understated gem !

This is our third Travel Editions holiday and we have throoughly enjoyed them all, especially the fact that unlike some tours, you are able to not shepherded everywhere in a big group, but are able to wander off and enjoy the sights that suit you, whilst still having the ease of someone having planned the excursions for you.
Review by Miss Joanna Gillis who travelled 03-July-2014
I have already been in touch with you regarding the extremely poor condition of our hotel room. Karen, our Tour Manager, and the trips were excellent.

'Faded glamour' probably accurately describes the hotel but it was absolutely charming with a great location - no complaints at all. Overall a well organised trip which was excellent value for money
Review by Mr Jonathan Houghton who travelled 03-July-2014
The National Rail Strike caused significant problems on the TGV leg of the outward journey, our train was cancelled. Helen coped efficiently with the problem and we arrived at the hotel a few minutes later than the original time, having had to take 2 trains instead of the original 1, and without reservations. Some of the group stood or sat on their luggage as the train was really full. The hotel was better than anticipated as we had a refurbished room ( with the original old bath!) and was quiet despite the central location. Montpellier is a delightful destination. We opted out of the Carcasonne trip as we knew that city well and took the oportunity to explore Montpellier which was most worthwhile. Maybe more time in the city in future could be included in the trip. We much appreciated Helen's hard work and advice, she is a credit to the company.
Review by Mrs M Dixon who travelled 12-June-2014
This is our third trip with you and would probably rate this one third. Re trips too long spent on coaches. However, we were there during the French Rail strike and feel Helene and travel editions handled this excellently keeping the disruption to a minimum.Welldone.
Review by Mrs Eleanor Carlin who travelled 12-June-2014
SNCF strike ruined the outbound journey having to stand or sit on the floor between Paris, Lyon and Montpelier. Tour Manager did an excellent job in getting us there! Overall a good holiday.

Travel Editions feedback:
Thank you for your comments and very sorry for all the inconvenience caused by the French rail strike but we were pleased that we could get you there and you enjoyed the rest of the tour.
French rail strike affected the outward journey when the carriage from Paris to Lyon did not have air conditioning and the journey from Lyon to Montpelier resulted in the 2 of us standing in the corridor for the 2 hour journey. We had upgraded our travel arrangements!! The return journey from Montpelier to London was ideal. The tour manager was absolutely superb and did not show any signs of stress(even though she might have felt it), she is a credit to the company. Being members of NADFAS we would have appreciated having guided tours of some of the places visited but realise that this might not have been to everyone`s taste particularly bearing in mind the very hot weather. We should probably have opted for an earlier departure date.
Review by Mr David Moyes who travelled 12-June-2014
Due to the French rail strike we were extremely glad that Helene was with us -she worked her socks off! (We arrived in Montpellier only half an hour later than scheduled!) Sometimes we felt as though we were trying to cover too many places - but no complaints. Great holiday!
Review by Mr Patrick Waldron who travelled 12-June-2014
Rail strike made for an extremely uncomfortable outward journey but not your fault. A longer stay at some tour destinations to allow for an evening meal there would have been preferable.
Review by Mr James Burnett who travelled 12-June-2014
The guide was really wonderful and her knowledge was very complete. The hotel was well situated but very much in need of improvement as regards the decor and fittings. We had a few problems with our strong-box. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Review by Mrs Sheila Brown who travelled 22-May-2014
We would have welcomed more time in Carcassone with the visit to Narbonne being left out. It was good to see the places in the brochure but we really didn't have enough time in each place. Maybe another day could be added to the tour, or the free day omitted, as we could have probably visited the Millau viaduct on the Sunday. Otherwise, we enjoyed the trip.
Review by Mrs Marion Martin who travelled 22-May-2014
Really enjoyed the holiday. Montpellier is a delightful town and perfect base for the week. Loved visiting the tiny little villages where time seems to stand still and then in contrast visiting the mighty Millau Bridge! Angela's local knowledge and sense of humour both spot on !
Review by Mrs S Kateb who travelled 22-May-2014
A good balance of free time and organised trips. Some would have benefitted by staying longer to view more , but on the whole a most pleasant experience. Angela was knowledgeable of the area and added some surprise elements to the trip. Thank you Travel Editions.
Review by Mrs Jill Clayton who travelled 22-May-2014

We were impressed by the careful organisation of the tour and the way in which we were looked after. Norman Allum was most efficient and very knowledgeable and looked after the party to make sure that we made the most of our holiday. Francois, our driver, was first class and his coach very comfortable. Please send next year's brochure as soon as it is available. Thanks

We thought that the bedroom was small but just satisfactory, with very little clothes hanging (4 hangers) and zero draw space.(room 210). Whilst advice was available regarding regarding the pre-tour night hotel near to Ebbsfleet, there was no advice that people could easily catch a train from Ebbsfleet to St P. and I spoke to a couple who took a taxi from Gravesend to St P.- little more advice would have helped them. My wife & I enjoyed our holiday.
Review by Mr Robert Harvey who travelled 08-May-2014
Our guide Norman was excellent. He was informative without being pedantic, helpful without being patronising - and good fun!
Review by Mr J Crebbin who travelled 08-May-2014
Bedrooms varied greatly. Ours did not have a safe and hardly any clothes hangers (we did ask, none forthcoming) Plate du jour was always the same.
Review by Mr Graham Coldrick who travelled 08-May-2014
Hotel description in brochure was accurate. We had 2 dinners in the Hotel, on the terrace. First was very good. Service was slow but that suited us. Second meal was disappointing, items on the menu were not available and substitutes were poor. Staff pleasant & helpful, but thin on the ground.

Review by Norton who travelled 12-September-2013
Delightful tour guide. Good trip overall. It would have been good to have had longer at most destinations as there was a lot to see, and not enough time. Often we left at four o'clock, which seemed very early for a whole day trip, even to places fairly close by. There seemed to be very little flexibility, and some places, eg Sete, would have been ideal for an evening meal of seafood, but we had to leave there by four o clock.
Review by Dunn who travelled 12-September-2013
Hotel room and bathroom in particular, needed complete refurbishment and bathroom not too clean in some areas. We would have liked more time in some places visited, in particular Carcassonne. Also, in other places we felt that we couldn't see much of what was available because of the limited time. Visit to St. Guilhelm-le-Desert was also very rushed. Wondered why it was always necessary to get back to Montpellier by around 5.30 p.m. each day. Our Tour Guide - Helene Gaujac was excellent.
