Day 2:  Full Day Valletta
A morning guided tour will take you through the bustling, historic streets of the capital city Valletta. Entrance is included to St John’s Cathedral, dating from 1578, which looms over the city like a giant fortress and the Grand Master’s Palace from the same period which for 200 years was home to the Grand Master of the Order of St John. A free afternoon will leave time for personal exploration with plenty of interesting options such as the Casa Rocca Piccola and National War Museum at Fort Elmo or, perhaps, a stroll through the historic and atmospheric streets and a leisurely lunch.

Day 3:  Full day island tour - Mosta, Mdina and Rabat
A full day tour with a wealth of highlights, not least of which is Mosta Church, Europe’s third largest free-standing dome. Our tour will also include the medieval city of Mdina, Malta’s old capital city, where we will enjoy a walk in the ‘silent city’ to admire the imposing bastions that command a magnificent panorama of most of the island with a visit to St Paul’s Cathedral. Our day continues with Rabat including its fascinating Catacombs and the lovely San Anton public gardens.

Day 4:  Full day Gozo
Full day tour to the magical, serene, tiny island of Gozo, starting with a short ferry ride to Mgarr. Highlights include the medieval citadel in Victoria, the glorious panoramic views from Xlendi and the Megalithic temples of Ggantija, the oldest free-standing monuments in the world, pre-dating the Pyramids of Egypt!  Time will also be allowed for a leisurely lunch (included) at a local restaurant.

Day 5:  Day at leisure

Day 6:  Full day Three Cities and Marsaxlokk
On the banks of the Grand Harbour stand the three ancient cities of Birgu (Vittoriosa), Cospicua and Senglea, where the Knights of St. John first settled in 1530.  A guided walking tour will take in the Inquisitor’s Palace and Maritime Museum in Birgu. This afternoon we head south to Marsaxlokk, an enchanting fishing village set around an azure bay. A guided walking tour will show you the main sights including the Church of Our Lady of Pompei and St Lucian’s Tower.

Day 7:  Full day Temples of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra, Blue Grotto and Ghar Dalam
Full day tour to the megalithic temple complexes at Hagar Qim and Mnajdra, amongst the most ancient religious sites in the world, dating back to 3600 BC. Our tour will also include a boat trip to the Blue Grotto (subject to weather conditions) and a visit to the Ghar Dalam cave, home to Malta’s first human inhabitants from 7,000 years ago.
