Day 1: Arrive independently at the Talbot Hotel Ripley, where at 14.30 an afternoon tea will await you. In the late afternoon we will depart for Windsor where we will enjoy a private tour of the breath-taking state apartments. Built by William the Conqueror, originally as a motte and bailey castle, Windsor is the longest-occupied palace in Europe, having been used by successive monarchs since Henry I. Our tour will include the unrivalled state apartments, the Royal Collection and a glass of champagne. This evening there will be a late dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Day 2: Westminster Abbey, Banqueting House and Buckingham Palace.
This morning we will visit Westminster Abbey for a guided tour. The traditional place of coronation and burial site for English, then British, monarchs, the present Gothic church was begun in 1245 on the orders of Henry III. Every English/British monarch since King Harold and William the Conqueror in 1066 has been crowned here, and 16 royal weddings have been held here. After lunch (not included) we visit the Banqueting House, Whitehall - the only remaining component of the Palace of Whitehall. Our final visit of the day is to the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace which has been an official London residence of the British monarch since the accession of Queen Victoria in 1837. Our tour includes an audio guide which will lead us throughout the State Rooms which are used both privately by the Queen and for official banquets and engagements. This evening, you will enjoy a private and talk from Suzannah with a Q&A session.
Day 3: Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace.
This morning, we will visit the Tower of London, established by William Conqueror in 1066 to keep hostile Londoners at bay. One of the UK’s most iconic buildings, the mighty Tower of London has been the scene of some of Britain’s most dramatic, fascinating and surprising history and houses the world-renowned Crown Jewels. After lunch (not included) we visit Hampton Court Palace, dating back to 1515 when it was commissioned by Cardinal Wolsey, who later gifted it to Henry VIII. It is one of only two of Henry VIII’s palaces still in existence. Here, you will be joined by Suzannah Lipscomb, who will add her expertise to the visit. Return to the hotel for approximately 17.30

As expected Suzannah was the highlight of the tour. Her expertise and passion for the subject is outstanding. She can present the subject so that it really comes alive. The entire tour was great but it would be even better if Suzannah would also take the Hamton court part of the tour.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend. At the hotel, staff were attentive and very helpful. The food was plentiful and with good choice. Adrian the bus driver was excellent and he obviously was very experienced in London traffic. The bus was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It might have been helpful to have a toilet onboard. Steven was a helpful and informative guide and kept everything to time. The highlights were the private evening tour at Windsor and Suzannah Lipscombe. Her talk was interesting and thought provoking. When she accompanied us to the Tower she was friendly and personable with everyone and it was wonderful to be able to ask questions and discuss historical subjects with someone with such excellent knowledge and credentials. We would like to thank yourselves, Steven, Adrian, Suzannah and the Hotel Staff who made this a wonderful experience.

Really good trip. Hotel great. Food great. Stephen our guide very knowledgable and informative. Susannah’s lecture and info at The Tower put the icing on the cake All the group felt it was good value for money which included all admission costs and coach transport door to door. All the visits were special but the main one for me was the private trip into Windsor followed by champagne reception and discount in the shop To have the ropes dropped and to be allowed to walk up to and touch so many wonderful things was amazing and the repairs after such a destructive fire out of this world I will be recommending his trip. Thankyou

Suzannah Lipscomb was lovely - could have listened to her all day! Steven was knowledgable, efficient and good fun. Although the hotel was a little "tired", it was clean, everything worked, the bed was comfortable, the food good and the staff excellent - so no complaints from us!

Excellent tour, hotel maybe not as good as The Talbot which was used the previous week for the original tour. Thank you

Suzannah Lipscombe was a very knowledgeable speaker and gave an excellent presentation. She made time for everyone. A little disappointed with the reception area at the hotel, it was lacking in personnel skills. The food was very good.

The only disappointment was the last day Tower of London to Hampton Court Palace. On leaving the Tower of London the traffic was very slow around the Battersea area causing the coach to arrive later than intended which meant the Hampton Court Palace visit was shorter than planned. Even the shorter visit was made interesting by the efforts off the Tour Guides doing a remarkable job in the circumstances. I found it strange that no coaches are permitted to drop off or park close to the palace. Whilst on a previous visit by car there were no parking problems. This is a comment and did not spoil a wonderful trip a wonderful by all concerned. Thank you.

Really enjoyed the involvement of Susannah Lipscombe Excellent itinerary. Would have liked more time at Hampton Court (traffic did delay us) and would have been happy to finish the tour a bit later.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour experience with Travel Editions. The only downside to the tour was the poor quality of the dinners offered at the Talbot Inn. The breakfasts were very good but both evening meals were tasteless, bland and of poor quality. The afternoon tea on the first day was absolutely excellent and was favourably commented upon by many of the other tour members. We heard some of them also comment about the disappointing evening meals so were not alone in that opinion. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful and helped to make our trip really good. Unfortunately, the hotel receptionist was not so good and really not that helpful or friendly. We had a number of problems with room allocations and room key cards were all disabled in error for all the tour members on the second evening. Overall though this did not spoil the tour for us. Tour content and guides were first class.

Very well run, apart from a couple of severe traffic delays (inevitable in London, although perhaps a mistake to drive through Kingston centre on way to Hampton Court?). Tours were great and lovely local guides as well as Steven. Great to have Suzanna's talk and at the Tower. Hotel strained a bit under the numbers, especially with evening meals, and rooms are looking a bit faded, however enthusiastic staff at breakfast did a great job to try and keep up with us all arriving at once.

Stephen the tour guide was fantastic and the tours were great. suzanna likewise was excellent. the hotel rooms could have been cleaner-lots of greasy fingerprints... the main complaint however was the terrible quality of the main courses of both evening meals and lack of waiters experience in not serving one table at a time so everyone having to wait for example 5 mins for mushy peas when everyone else started. the breakfasts were fine and staff very polite and helpful otherwise.

After a gap of a few years it was very pleasing to se that Travel Editions have maintained there very high standards. The tour manager was well prepared and knowledgeable. The presence of Suzanna Lipscomb as guest speaker really finished the tour off.
