Christmas is a wonderful time to visit Alsace with several towns hosting Christmas markets and exuding a festive atmosphere. Highlights of the itinerary include relatively unknown (but one of France's most beautiful cities) Strasbourg, Colmar, Riquewihr, Baden-Baden and the nothern Alsace pottery village of Hunspach. Your base for 5 nights will be the Le Gouverneur Hotel based in the centre of the pretty town of Obernai about 30km south west of Strasbourg.
