A very interesting visit with an excellent " expert" with us and a most efficient and helpful tour manager. The local guides in Luxembourg and Metz were also very interesting and informative. Highly recommended .

A very enjoyable trip, benefitting from Anne's wide-ranging knowledge and boundless enthusiasm, together with Gill's high level of efficiency and attention to detail. The vegetarian options for the second included dinner were particularly delicious which was a very welcome surprise!

Gillian was a wonderful, intelligent and kind tour manager. We would have welcomed a bit more free time, especially in Luxembourg, but the tour was excellent.

Ann was great and as knowledgeable as before. Only problem was the food for me with dairy and gluten free, there were very few options in restaurants and coffee shops (not your fault!) But maybe mention to any other clients that it would be a good idea to bring some food with them! The hotel catered well for me tho for breakfast .

Dr Anne Anderson was excellent as always. We achieved a great deal in a few days. Personally I will be more wary of short trips like this one as the travel, including getting to and from St Pancras, was quite exhausting for only two full days sightseeing. Showing my age here!

Jill, our tour manager was excellent throughout. The way she dealt with the chaos at Gare du Nord on our return journey Especially after our delayed arrival there, was superb. We could very easily have been stuck in Paris through no fault of T.E. ..

I haven't rated the train journey because I think my previous email explains the situation. The homeward journey was a series of exceptional events but the outward journey was excellent

The holiday and visits were excellent but we had a very difficult journey home, caused first by the failure of the TGV between Metz and Paris owing to a fallen power line - so we went by a slower route. Then customs delays at Gare du Nord meant that we were queueing and edging very slowly forward for over 2 hours. Our Tour Manager Gill was most resourceful and did very well - getting tickets for a later train and later a free taxi and a free night at the Euston Hilton as we missed our connection to Sheffield - where we arrived about 12 hours late the next morning. In the morning, we had to pay extra to catch a rush hour train and think we could claim compensation from Eurostar if we knew our original Eurostar ticket numbers.

A very enjoyable trip and all praise to Gill for having to deal with a tricky return journey back to London. She handled our difficulties calmly and efficiently. Anne is a great lecturer as well as good company. I learned such a lot from her. My only criticism would be the accommodation. In itself, the hotel was very good, the staff helpful and the room very comfortable. However, the location leaves much to be desired. Having to walk through a shopping precinct at night was not a pleasant experience, I was glad not to have to have done on my own. The noise from the shopping precinct in the evening was dreadful. Young people congregating in an echoing environment not to mention the drunks in the corner was unpleasant. My bedroom overlooked the precinct and on Saturday night the noise was horrible. Much shouting and screaming. Apart from that a good few days away.

The return train journey with three significant delays has put me off choosing a TE train holiday in Europe for at least a year. I hope TE is claiming compensation on our behalf for the Metz/Paris Est leg of the journey as Gill took in all our tickets so we cannot claim individually.. The guide in Luxembourg seemed unnecessary as Gill and Ann told us all we needed to know.

The food at the first restaurant (I think it was Relais d'Alsace) was not very good - slow service and far too much stodge on the plate and the amount of uneaten food left by most people was an embarrassment. However, the dinner on the final night was excellent. The return train journeys were extremely problematic with huge delays, but of course that was out of your control. The tour manager dealt with things admirably.

Gosh. I think this was my thirteenth tour with Travel Editions since 2014. It was certainly NOT unlucky. Gill is an exemplary tour manager and this group was particularly friendly. So the trip to Luxembourg was cushioned in mist and fog, but that lifted. All in all ten out of ten again. Travelling alone is never easy, but your tours make all guests welcome

I would have given the sightseeing tours a rating of excellent, but for the unsatisfactory local guide in Luxembourg. Anne Anderson, however, was wonderful, as was Gill Thompson. They gave us all the information we could have asked for, and Anne was particularly kind in accompanying me for the Saturday evening meal so that I was not dining alone. Much appreciated.

Just one comment about the information that was given to us before we went, which did not say that we would be spending over and hour and a half each way in the coach to see the St Louis and Lalique museums. The brochure had made us think that these were in Metz itself, where we were staying. But we still very much enjoyed the holiday.

Rather an early start at St Pancras, but otherwise a very enjoyable tour. The highlight was on Saturday going to the St.Louis Crystal Museum and especially the Lalique Museum. We found Luxembourg interesting but a bit underwhelming! Nothing but praise for Gill and Anne, our tour manager and expert.
