Day 1: London to Split
Depart London Gatwick for Split then transfer by coach to our hotel for a four-night stay. After time to settle in, meet for a welcome drink before dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2: Split
Discover Split’s remarkable heritage on a guided walking tour through the atmospheric historic centre, built around the remarkable remains of Diocletian’s Palace. Highlights include the Cathedral of St Domnius, originally Emperor Diocletian’s mausoleum, with an option to climb the bell tower for panoramic views across the city and Adriatic coastline. Explore the ancient cellars beneath the palace, visit the Temple of Jupiter, and pass through the Bronze Gate. Our walk concludes along the lively waterfront promenade, where cafés and palm trees line the harbour. Afternoon at leisure to explore independently or relax by the sea.
Day 3: Krka National Park
Today’s excursion takes us inland to the waterfalls and lush vegetation of Krka National Park. Enjoy a guided visit through the park, learning about its ecology and history, followed by a scenic boat trip to the idyllic island of Visovac. Here, a Franciscan monastery sits peacefully amid the lake, offering a glimpse into centuries of spiritual heritage. Continue to Roški Waterfall, for a series of smaller cascades and wooden walkways and free time to explore the park’s scenic trails.. Return to Split in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Trogir
Travel to the charming UNESCO-listed town of Trogirh of medieval architecture. On a guided walking tour, explore its narrow alleys, elegant squares, and medieval architecture. Highlights include St Lawrence Cathedral with its magnificent Romanesque portal, the Town Loggia, and the historic Cipiko Palace. Enjoy views of the Adriatic as you stroll along the attractive seafront promenade. Continue to the imposing Klis Fortress, dramatically situated between mountains and offering sweeping views over Split and the surrounding islands. Steeped in history, the fortress has guarded this strategic pass for centuries. The day concludes with a visit to Stella Croatica, a family-run estate celebrating Dalmatian culinary traditions. Discover the olive oil museum and botanical gardens, and enjoy tastings of local produce.
Day 5: Pelješac Peninsula and Dubrovnik
Depart Split and journey south along the spectacular Adriatic coastline towards Dubrovnik. En route, stop on the Pelješac Peninsula for lunch at a family-run farm, featuring regional cheeses, cured meats, traditional lamb and local wines. Continue to Dubrovnik and check in to our hotel for a four-night stay.
Day 6: Dubrovnik
Discover the beauty and history of Dubrovnik’s Old Town on a guided walking tour. Encircled by impressive medieval walls, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most perfectly preserved historic cities in Europe. Our tour includes Onofrio’s Fountain, the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries, and the elegant main street, Stradun. See Orlando’s Column, a symbol of the city’s independence, as well as St Blaise’s Church and the Cathedral. Free time this afternoon to explore at your own pace – perhaps walk the famed city walls, visit a museum, or enjoy a leisurely lunch overlooking the sea.
Day 7: Cavtat
Travel to a local winery near to Cavtat for a tasting of regional wines while learning about the traditions and techniques that shape Dalmatian viticulture. Continue to the elegant coastal town of Cavtat, known for its scenic harbour. On a guided walk, visit the House of Vlaho Bukovac, the former home of Croatia’s most celebrated painter, offering insight into his life and work. Free time to explore independently before returning to Dubrovnik.
Day 8: Dubrovnik
Enjoy a free day in Dubrovnik. You may wish to take a boat trip to nearby islands, revisit the Old Town, or relax by the hotel. In the evening, gather for a special farewell dinner, featuring traditional Dalmatian cuisine accompanied by local music and dance
Day 9: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to London Gatwick.
