Day 2: Delft
This morning we explore Delft on a walking tour of this picturesque town, known for its charming canals, iconic blue pottery, historic churches, and ties to the Dutch royal family. Discover quaint streets, artisan shops, and peaceful courtyards. The afternoon is free to explore independently—perhaps visit the Vermeer Centre, enjoy a canal-side café, or browse local boutiques.
Day 3: Keukenhof
A full-day excursion to the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens, where millions of tulips and spring flowers bloom in a spectacular display. Enjoy time to explore the themed gardens and pavilions at your own pace.
Day 4: Amsterdam
The largest city and capital of The Netherlands, Amsterdam started life as a small fishing village and became one of the world’s most important ports during the Dutch Golden Age. Wander the narrow atmospheric lanes and canals lined with 17th century merchant’s houses and visit some of the many cultural and historic sights. We include entry to the Rijksmuseum, one of the world’s greatest art galleries with a large collection of Dutch works, particularly Rembrandts, several excellent Vermeers, and a huge cache of sculptures and applied arts. The rest of the day is free before we return to Delft.
Day 5: Gouda and Leiden
Visit Gouda in the morning, with free time to explore the historic market square, admire the Gothic town hall, and browse charming local shops and artisan cheese stalls. After lunch (own expense), continue to Leiden for a visit to the Leiden Botanical Gardens. Founded in 1590, it is the oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands and one of the oldest in the world, and was created to support medical education and botanical research.
