Fly from London Gatwick to Salzburg. Transfer by coach to the hotel for check-in. Evening welcome drink, followed by dinner with wine at the hotel.
Day 2: Salzburg – Mozart's Birthday!
This morning, we begin our Salzburg explorations with a guided walking tour of the Old Town, and a visit to the magnificent Salzburg Cathedral. With its grand Baroque architecture and seven historic organs, the Cathedral forms the spiritual and musical heart of Salzburg and played an important role in Mozart’s early musical life. At 12pm, we take our seats for Music at Noon, the Cathedral’s daily organ concert. Free time for lunch (at own expense). This afternoon brings one of the highlights of the tour—the Mozart Birthplace Museum, located at No. 9 Getreidegasse. Here, you’ll explore the very rooms where Mozart was born in 1756 and view original family items, musical instruments, portraits, and reconstructed living quarters. A special piano performance takes place in the museum during our visit.
Day 3: Salzburg
Today is free for you to enjoy Salzburg at your own pace. You may wish to explore the city’s atmospheric lanes, riverside paths, or museums—or attend a morning or daytime festival performance (optional and own expense).
Day 4: Salzburg
Our morning begins at the Mozart Residence, where the family lived from 1773. The residence houses significant documents, family memorabilia, and important instruments associated with Mozart’s later Salzburg years, offering an insight into his development as a composer. We then enjoy an exclusive, private visit to the Mozarteum Autograph Vault, home to one of the world’s most important Mozart collections. Held in the basement of the historic Mozart family residence, the vault contains hundreds of letters, manuscripts, and autograph scores, including around 200 letters written by Mozart himself. In the afternoon, we continue with a guided tour of the Right Bank (New Town), including the peaceful St. Sebastian Cemetery, sections of elegant Linzer Straße, and Mirabell Palace and Gardens. The palace is one of Salzburg’s treasures, famed for its Baroque Marble Hall—once a performance space for the Mozart family—and its beautifully designed gardens aligned toward the Cathedral and Fortress. Later, we enjoy a Sacher Sweet Treat at the iconic Hotel Sacher—your chance to enjoy authentic Sachertorte with a hot drink. This evening we attend a performance at the Mozart Festival of Così fan tutte.
Day 5: Salzburg
Today we visit Salzburg’s DomQuartier, an extraordinary museum ensemble uniting the former prince‑archbishops’ Residence, the Cathedral Museum, St. Peter’s Abbey, the Organ Gallery and the Residenz state rooms. The complex beautifully illustrates 1,300 years of Salzburg’s artistic, political, architectural, and musical heritage, and includes rooms where Mozart once performed for court audiences. The afternoon is at leisure to explore independently or relax at the hotel. This evening, enjoy another included Mozart Festival performance.
Day 6: Salzburg and depart
