On arrival transfer by coach to your hotel and check in for three nights at the four-star Mercure Stanislas, in the heart of the city. Introductory lecture, 'Nancy: Ville d'Art', followed by welcome drink and dinner with wine at the stunning Art Nouveau Brasserie Excelsior restaurant a short walk from the hotel.
Day 2: Villa Majorelle and Ecole de Nancy.
Morning visit to the imposing Villa Majorelle, reopened in 2020 after a major refurbishment, built for the artist Louis Majorelle by young Parisian architect Henri Sauvage who broke with traditional and symmetrical design in favour of reflecting the internal layout. During the visit you will get to see the original decoration and furnishings of the reception rooms and bedrooms as well as items of furniture, paintings and objects from the Ecole de Nancy collection. Afternoon visit to the influential Ecole de Nancy Museum, the only museum in the world devoted entirely to a unique art movement, that houses a wonderful collection of furniture, fabrics, jewellery and Galle glassware in reconstructed Art Nouveau settings. The museum is housed in the property of Eugene Corbin, patron and promoter of the Nancy School in the early 20th century. We will also have some time to look at the garden including a 'aquarium' door which was originally designed for Emile Galle's workshop. Evening at leisure.

Evening lecture, 'Art Nouveau: new art for the modern era', followed by dinner with wine at the Brasserie Excelsior.

Review by Barker who travelled 20-October-2023
The brochure and notes described this tour as demanding and it surely was ! A lot to pack in 4 days but well worth the effort. Big thanks to Gill and Scott
Review by Dumville who travelled 20-October-2023
The tour was fascinating and well presented by Scott Anderson, who clearly loves his subject. I would also like to say how impressed I am with Gill. I have now been on several tours with her and cannot recommend her highly enough as she is amazingly calm and helpful at all times. Another memorable holidayl.
Review by Anonymous who travelled 20-October-2023
Gill was extremely efficient and helpful and her travel arrangements and rescheduling after a bomb scare delay were seamless Scott was very knowledgeable and happy to share it. His voice must have been considerably overworked by the end of the trip and he gave 100%. The Mercure accommodation was good, the breakfasting arrangements less so. Overall we had a great time and were delighted with the whole experience.
Review by Smart who travelled 20-October-2023
Our tour guide, Gill, deserves all the praise that she receives in reviews. I was very pleased with the level of the lectures and guided visits, exactly what I was hoping for.

A well organised, informative and enjoyable holiday.
Review by Dawson who travelled 17-September-2024
The Hotel was good in most ways, excellent breakfast and the main areas were clean and well presented. I have only given it a satisfactory because although the room was obviously cleaned every day the edges of the carpet were dirty, the line of carpet in front of the small wardrobe in both my and my sisters room had a line of dirt and hair, and both bathrooms smelt of drains. I was glad I had sandals to walk around the room in and a couple of others members of the party said the same, however for location and convenience it could not have been better. Our Tour Manager, Gill Thompson and the Lecturer Dr Anne Anderson could not have been better, kinder or more interesting. The trip was a total delight, as was Nancy. Thank you.
Review by Weigall who travelled 17-September-2024
There was too much walking. I have enjoyed many organised tour hoiidays but given this was a short break, we had very little free time. I appreciate that you are seeking to provide lots of interesting activities and events but an extra day and some addtional free time would have worked better for me. I think everyone was very tired at the end.

This was a very pleasant, well-organised tour which did exactly what it said in the brochure. Gill, our Tour Manager, went out of her way to help me (and others) on the occasions when I felt unable to keep up with the group and preferred to do things on my own.
Review by Anonymous who travelled 21-April-2023
Superb organisation to enable us to see so many beautiful examples of Art Nouveau in a short time. Scott’s commentary was very informative and entertaining. Gill’s hard work ensured everything went smoothly.
Review by Sullivan who travelled 21-April-2023
The expert Scott was truly the best we could expect on the subject. Your manager Jill anticipated or dealt with every problem.good people. Overall a very good experience and value.
Review by Taylor who travelled 21-April-2023
I thoroughly enjoyed the holiday but the hotel was less than ideal because of the building works. It meant there was no bar area and this made it more difficult to get to know the rest of the group. I cannot fault either Gill or Scott who were excellent.
Review by Fletcher who travelled 21-April-2023
A wonderful weekend away; good food, good company and well chosen visits.
Review by Guyan who travelled 21-April-2023
The tour manager- Jill - was superb. Couldn’t fault her and she was always helpful and always smiling
Review by Riley who travelled 21-April-2023
This was a good and enjoyable tourand was everything which was in the brochure - good support from the tour manager , and excellent information from the accompanying lecturer. Th hotel was good, the breakfast excellent, but our room was very noisy being on the street side of the building. The meals at the restaurant were good but not exceptional - but the accompanying wine was very good.
Review by Anonymous who travelled 21-October-2022
Admin excellent. Nancy was a revelation. We'd had no idea about its wealth of history, art and architecture.
Review by Lane who travelled 21-October-2022
A very worthwhile experience - and a beautiful city. Excellent 'chaperoning' by guide Jill and well chosen lectures by Anne Anderson which both alerted in advance to elements to be seen the next day and placed Nancy in the wider Art Nouveau context. The deep knowledge of the city by both was evident at all times and ensured we accessed many details that would otherwise be missed. The tour was also hugely enjoyable, a relaxed and friendly group and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

This would enable me to keep in contact with all that was sad by the guides & allow stopping points for a non official photo opportunity..I am looking forward to the next 2 tours in September fully equipped !1

A very interesting well organised and enjoyable tour. I never knew there was so much to see in Nancy. The tour guides were very knowledgeable, Only downside - Upon return - I appear to have contracted covid from the trip. Two of the group were unwell . I hope the tour leaders are ok.
Review by Anonymous who travelled 22-April-2022
Gosh, what bliss to be away again, and on a tour on my favourite subject, Art Nouveau, and with such a knowledgeable expert, Scott, who showed us not only architectural details, but also metalwork, glass, furniture, windows. You name it, we saw it all in Nancy! All this and with the skilful admin by Jill. A perfect weekend break!
Review by Turnbull who travelled 22-April-2022
The tour was excellent in every respect and exceeded expectations. The programme was well planned with a good balance of sightseeing, lectures, free time etc. The hotel was an excellent choice..... both for hospitality and central Nancy location. The included 2 evening meals at The Excelsior Restaurant ..... simply wonderful. The overall success of the tour was largely due to the tour guide Jill Thompson (such attention to detail, so thoughtful), and the accompanying specialist Scott Anderson (so knowledgeable and enthusiastic). They were both superb and worked well together.
Review by Newman who travelled 22-April-2022
It was all just perfect--- I can not praise Gill and Scott for all the imformation and variety of visits achieved. Gill was partivularly kind to me. I was suffereing from a very bad cold and not only did she supply me with medication but managed to purchase some Strepsils on a Sunday ---amazing service --- I will deffinately be traveling with you again ane will highly recomend your company to friends and family
Review by King who travelled 22-April-2022
Gill & Scott both were knowledgeable, enthusiastic & evidently enamored with the subject matter. Gill's communication of org details & demonstrated ability to confront any problems puts her at the top of the administrators I've experienced. Scott's wry humor kept one attentive & questions & attendee comments were very welcomed, authoritatively responded to & the result was greater enrichment. G & S added unplanned views on walks which were entirely worthwhile. 1st day very tiring given early departure & long hours of transport. Hotel needs to upgrade bath safety equipment for older guests. But hotel in great location. Overall, it may rank as my favorite of the (dozen?) TE tours I'VE taken. Bravo all 'round!

Yet another Travel Editions dream team - this time Gil and Scott. The amount we packed in was simply amazing, and such good-humoured fun the whole time. Take a bow !
Review by Woodman who travelled 22-April-2022
Gill, our Tour Manager, was brilliant. Really helpful and got us access to buildings not normally open to the public. We were very impressed with the service she gave, especially as she didn't feel very well during the trip.
Review by Anonymous who travelled 26-April-2019
Our tour guide Gill was unwell but was exceptional in the way she looked after everyone and was very kind to us all. Although the weather was not kind to us Dr. Scott Anderson made our trip very memorable and compensated by giving us a little extra knowledge and insight along the way. His friendliness and expert knowledge was much appreciated and greatly enhanced our understanding and enjoyment of this holiday.
Review by Cousins who travelled 26-April-2019
Very much enjoyed this trip and learnt a lot about art nouveau as well as seeing some beautiful things! Very fortunate with weather. The walking tours would have been less pleasant if weather had not been so kind. Group size was 24 and at times this felt a tad too big. Tour rep and tour lecturer demonstrated humour, knowledge and reliability

Review by Anonymous who travelled 29-March-2019
Both the tour manager and the lecturer were excellent. Terry was particularly helpful on facilitating my transfer. Pity your tick box survey doesn't allow for proper evaluation. The hotel I rated poor as despite needing a handicapped room, my room involved a long walk from the lift and two lots of stairs. There was a walk in shower as specified, but no hand grips or shelves so I could not wash my hair as could not reach the fixed shower gel safely or put my own product where i could safely use it. Minor matter, but I don't like living out of a suitcase is that there were no shelves in the room. This is not 4 star accommodation. Plus side was its location and fresh produce at breakfast and home produced light meals.

I loved the tour. The guides were both very good, especially Terry dealing with my nut allergy requirements in the restaurant. Scott was extremely knowledgable and amusing. Both guides were good company. The hotel was good, comfortable beds, good shower, good facilities in the room, although drinking water free each day would have been better still. There was a good selection at breakfast and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was conveniently placed and the range of architecture and artefacts was fantastic. I'd recommend the trip to anyone interested in Art Nouveau. Hopefully, the photos I put on Facebook will encourage family and friends to visit. Nancy proved to be a very pleasant surprise and a very attractive city.

The problem with Eurostar was the strike and the 3 hour wait !
Review by Lister who travelled 08-March-2019
Brilliant guide - knowledgeable and amusing. The arrangements ran smoothly until we met the customs officers’ work to rule at Paris on the return. Only just caught last train home out of London. Why is standard premier on Eurostar not the default option? I personally would prefer all tips to be included.
Review by Gurbutt who travelled 08-March-2019

Anne, our expert was fun but also so knowledgeable any question we asked she knew about in depth. Our tour guide, Gill was also excellent. Review by Anonymous who travelled 26-October-2018
Our tour guide was absolutely excellent, giving us the information we needed at the right time and maintaining a calm air of assurance even when I thought the time to get from the Gare de l’Est to the Garde du Nord and through 4 security controls for Eurostar was extremely limited. Our expert guide gave us great presentations and lots of information as we visited the wonderful Art Nouveau sites.
Review by Wyeth who travelled 26-October-2018
A very enjoyable tour, with excellent guide and tour manager. Hotel was quite good, but room small and tea-making facilities poor, with tiny paper cups. We had to borrow mugs from the dining room and the tea selection was minimal. Otherwise no complaints
Review by Purnell who travelled 26-October-2018
A very interesting tour with excellent input, pitched at jus the right level. Provision of free time in what was otherwise a very intense programme was much appreciated. Excellent choice of restaurant for shared dinners. Both the Tour Manager and Lecturer were very competent, friendly and approachable.
Review by Anonymous who travelled 26-October-2018
A very well organised, varied and interesting trip, with an impressive tour manager, who dealt well with the unexpected and seemed to be one step ahead with everything. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided an informative and entertaining commentary, without being overly academic in his approach. We enjoyed the trip very much. [TGV train with disfunctional air conditioning and no buffet car was not the fault of Travel Editions - at least we were spared the problems of possible SNCF strikes!]
Review by Cooper who travelled 27-April-2018
Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Scott Anderson was informative and entertaining and Gill Thompson looked after us very well. I have only marked the train down a notch because the Eurostar was delayed, but that was not the fault of Travel Editions. Also, the coach to transfer us between Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nore did not turn up but I wonder if it is necessary to have a coach anyway as the walk is very short. It might be just as easy to ask people to walk and if this isn't practical for a small number then to get them a taxi.
Review by who travelled 27-April-2018
Hotel: could do with some drawer space in rooms; could make breakfast area easier to navigate. Excelsior restaurant: seems to be resting on its laurels because of the setting. After taking our orders at 7.50 p.m. on Sunday evening, they didn't produce first course until 9 p.m.! They seemed to be short-staffed that evening, but that's not really an excuse: they should have planned that better.
Review by Hackett who travelled 27-April-2018
Thank you for an excellent short break. We really enjoyed it. Return home did not go as smoothly as it could have done - no coach for Paris transfer and late arrival of Eurostar back to London. However, neither of these caused us any significant difficulties.
Review by who travelled 27-April-2018
Our tour manager was excellent, given the rail strike in France just at the start of our trip she did amazingly well to rearrange travel and keep us all up to date with the 'what nexts'. I found the lecturer a little cynical in his delivery and while I don't doubt he knew his 'stuff' I have reached a time in my life when I don't want to be talked at but would prefer shared thoughts and opinions of the group.
Review by Roddy who travelled 06-April-2018
Very impressed how quickly alternative travel arrangements were made for the return journey on account of the rail strike in France. Also impressed that some of the Monday programme was fitted into previous days. It was good to have expert knowledge about Art Nouveau - as well as the lectures both the lecturer & tour manager gave very interesting information during our walking tours / visits.
Review by Mitchell who travelled 06-April-2018
Hotel room was fine for short stay, but no draw space and limited hanging, but overall hotel very good. Homeward journey affected by train strikes/cancellations, but alternative arrangements made which were good.
Review by Johnson who travelled 06-April-2018
A fascinating and very informative trip, with friendly fellow travellers and excellent guides. Our train back from Nancy to Paris was cancelled due to strike action, but arrangements were quickly made to take us by coach. Gill, our tour manager, was very efficient, professional and knowledgeable.
Review by Jones who travelled 06-April-2018
We were sent a letter saying the outgoing train did not stop at Ebbsfleet so we had to change our plans to spend the night before the holiday in London. We were then very surprised to find the train did stop at Ebbsfleet & pick up passengers. The hotel rooms were quite small & the air conditioning didn't work. Lift was hardly adequate. Location was good. WE were very impressed that you got us back safely despite the rail strike even though we effectively lost the last day of the holiday. WE loved Nancy & enjoyed the holiday. The guides were excellent.

Review by King who travelled 06-April-2018
Despite rail problems on the return journey, Jill was exceptional in attending to everyone's needs and ensuring we all arrived home in a timely way. The tour was full of fabulous art nouveau detail despite missing out on some of the last day's events. Highly recommend hotel, restaurant for set evening meals and the itinerary.
Review by Mccarthy-Smith who travelled 06-April-2018
Our tour manager, Gill, was brilliant in rearranging our voyage home as there was a rail strike. No stress for us....This was my 4th Travel Editions Tour and I now have a few suggestions. It would help to have a list of other people on the tour. It would be nice to be able to call people by their names, to refer to a list if once introduced you no longer could recall the other person's name. Also it seems as if not everyone received information regarding tipping. I couldn't find anything mentioned in the printed material for this trip. I tried to arrange envelopes to pass around on the coach, but somehow not everyone received the envelope. So some people did not contribute. If there had been a list of names, people could have crossed their name off the list.

Review by who travelled 09-March-2018
Gill was great - couldn't fault her. Scott is enthusiastic but a bit verbose - on both the evening lectures he spent time waffling about personal stuff at the beginning then had to rush through about half his slides in the last 5 minutes. Hotel clean & beds v comfortable, but why no storage space in either bedroom or ensuite? I was ok in a double for single occupancy, but it must have been a nightmare for 2 sharing. Rooms don't have a mini bar - just a little fridge - empty - not even a bottle of mineral water! However, I did enjoy all the visits, the Excelsior Restaurant was wonderful & Nancy itself was a revelation.

Essentially a great long break. Anne as our expert and Jill as manager were both excellent. Only let down was hotel. Location fine but service level / staff attitude poor e.g. 1)To be told at reception they only supply herbal tea in rooms (why then was there milk) - we just helped ourselves from breakfast supplies but still ... 2) To be told that we had come down at the wrong time for breakfast

Very interesting tour and we certainly saw a lot of Art Nouveau! Hotel very nice. TGV played up on way home our train had to push broken down train in front of us into Paris. Scott and Gill dealt with it all very well and Gill helped us to book a hotel in London as we had missed our last train home before we eventually got there at 11 p.m. Anyway, late trains a trivial matter in light of happenings of Wednesday.

Enjoyable trip well guided with Scott and Gill both being super and very knowledgeable. Hotel well located but rather basic and building work made breakfast facilities inadequate. Gill and Scott did an excellent job in less than ideal weather. The hotel rooms were fine but unlimited, fast and free wi-fi should be the norm these days. With the public rooms still under renovation, the Mercure was not a good choice as this compromised the setting for the lectures and also made breakfast very difficult.

Hopefully the refyrbished Mercure Hotel will be an improvement but it's usp is that is a very central location. This was not a cheap trip and for those who live up north it is always a bind to have to have overnight London stop overs. Any further price increases would be off putting. But it was good to have such a knowledgeable guide and on this occasion it was nice to have first class travel.

My first TE holiday; I'll be back. Excellent organisation by tour manager and very interesting teaching by lecturer all done in a pleasant, relaxed manner. Hotel OK, included meals delicious.

I would like to commend our tour manager, Gill Thompson who was extremely helpful and supportive to me when I had my rucksack stolen in Paris en route to Nancy. She really went the extra mile and helped to ensure the rest of my holiday was as enjoyable as possible. High praise also due to our excellent art history expert Dr Anne Anderson who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic - a great communicator.
Review by Mr Nigel Hall who travelled 25-November-2016
No further communication at all received after the tour confirmation invoice. I had to call on the day of departure to find out where to meet the group. We had to access our rooms by a fire escape from a dark yard behind the hotel. The door from the yard to the fire escape was left open all the time so anybody could have just walked in off the street and up to our rooms. You cannot call that a 4 star hotel experience

I enjoyed the tour very much. I have no improvements to suggest.

Very well located hotel. Lecturer, Ann very knowledgeable with infectious enthusiasm. Excellent organisation, tour manager unflappable. Probably the most enjoyable tour we have ever experienced.

Great combo of Jill and Proff Andersen. Smooth journeys and clear communication. Well-located hotel. Entertaining and informative guide commentaries and lectures. A slight quibble: hotel was not four star, but an average 3 star.
Review by Mr Eugene Bacot who travelled 21-October-2016
I love having an expert to guide us on what we are seeing-it makes such a difference. And such enthusiasm for their subject. Really enjoyed the tour.
Review by Mrs M Cameron who travelled 21-October-2016
Excellent trip, gave a very good insight into Art Nouveau in Nancy. Tour manager and expert both enthusiastic and organised speakers. Hotel just about ok, in good location, good breakfast but drab rooms. Meals at the restaurant in Nancy excellent.
Review by Mrs Susan Whitter who travelled 21-October-2016
Would have preferred to pay a little more and have a slightly upgraded hotel. Also Dr. Scott Anderson was excellent - v. knowledgeable, friendly and approachable.

A really enjoyable visit to Nancy. It was such a pleasure to spend time with real experts who were always ready to share their knowledge.
Review by Mr Philip Bradshaw who travelled 22-April-2016
Scott and Terry were extremely knowledgeable and imparted information with enthusiasm and humour. Scott pitched his talks at absolutely the right level for us; neither presuming a certain level of prior knowledge, nor being too simplistic. A thoroughly enjoyable and interesting trip leaving us wanting more!

Both Scott Anderson and Terry Reagan were superb leaders of the tour. Scott's knowledge and infectious enthusiasm was terrific. Terry made sure we always knew the next move and that we got to it. Also liked his dry sense of humour. Only small niggle was the Mercure. It was of course in a good position, the breakfasts were fine and the beds were good so no problem really. But our safe was broken and they didn't try to fix it ("do you really need a safe"). And they had 3 tea bags in the room - one ordinary tea and two fruit teas and when my wife asked if she could have another black tea they said "but this is what we do" But overall it was annoying rather than bad.

The whole trip was beautifully managed by Gill and Scott. I loved every minute - will be back on another trip as soon as I can. Hope all your tour managers are as efficient as she is.

Scott Anderson was an excellent leader, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The mix of tours and spare time was about right. The train seating was just as ordered but I will take a lighter case next time! Good holiday - thank you.

The glassware was jaw-dropping and Nancy itself was an unexpected delight.Particular thanks to Scott for the interesting presentations and commentary and to Gill who looked after our group so very well. The usual high standard we have come to expect on Travel Editions tours has been achieved again.

Excellent tour manager and guide. Delays to coach in Nancy and to Eurostar at 'Gard du Nord' were beyond their control and they did keep us well-informed.
Review by Mrs Valerie Boyes who travelled 10-April-2015
Very enjoyable and informative. Only gave the hotel satisfactory as it is in need of a makeover.
Review by Mrs Rita Lewis who travelled 10-April-2015
Air conditioning thermostat in room was not working and opening the windows onto main road was not an option because of traffic noise, so room was unpleasantly hot. Otherwise accomadation was fine, hotel staff were pleasant and helpful and breakfast was good. Most sightseeing visits were excellent, but the odd one fell below that standard. The freedom on Sun pm to do one's own thing was appreciated. Overall, we found it a very enjoyable but fairly strenuous trip.
Review by Mr Brian Goddard who travelled 10-April-2015
Both Anne & Gill worked very hard to make the tour the success that it was; it was our first outing with Travel Editions, and we would certainly use the company again for future art/history trips. We had never visited Nancy before, and were delighted with the treasures it had in store for us, all brought to life by Anne's excellent knowledge and commentaries. Highly recommended.
Review by Mrs Janet James who travelled 27-March-2015
Excellent lectures, handouts and information from Anne Anderson. Whole trip was very informative if tiring as we seemed to be on the go whole time. Possibly an extra day to take on board what we did when we arrived on Friday so there would be time to rest after journey. Eating at Excelsior was super and very good idea to change to Friday and Sunday as two nights following would have been too much. I belong to an Architecture group and am interested in Art Nouveau so it was a good choice for me.
Review by Mrs Jacqueline Brown who travelled 27-March-2015
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all aspects of French Art Nouveau.Gill Thompson's organisational skills were excellent, she was also very well-informed regarding Nancy's history and facilities.Fascinating destination.
Review by Mr Reginald Sheppard who travelled 27-March-2015
Unfortunately there was a lack of drawer space in the room. Also the hot water for showers etc did not appear to operate before 7:00am or after 10:00pm As the last day was pretty busy may I suggest extending the trip by one day with the aim of leaving Nancy mid morning so arriving home mid afternoon. I appreciate that there would be a cost implication. An excellent tour with extremely knowledgeable tour manager and speaker

Review by Mrs Shirley Mcneill who travelled 24-October-2014
Both Gil and Anne Anderson were superb. Gill was extremely professional and helped me over a lost rail ticket which I doubt I could have handled on my own. Anne's knowledge and enthusiasm and friendliness made this a trip to remember.
Review by Ms Elizabeth Marlow who travelled 24-October-2014
For a teacher who has led urban walks for over forty years it was a delight to have others doing the hard work - and offering such a fact filled fun, and precise, visit. Difficult to fault anything that was within your oiwers and our thanks go to both the guide and expert whose informed double act was both professional and enjoyable. All the right places, just enough expertise to tempt further, and a feeling that we had missed something by not travelling with you in ghe past.

First meal was disappointing due to lack of attention to dietary requirements but improved greatly the next day when Terry had spoken to them. Scott was an excellent guide/lecturer and altogether a very good first holiday with Travel Editions.

Review by Mr David Jordan who travelled 25-April-2014
This was an excellent tour to a place we had never visited and had no idea of the riches to be seen - both in general beauty and specific Art Nouveau treasures. We've found a new place for a weekend away. Scott Anderson is a superb guide who is a clear speaker with great breadth and depth of knowledge. This is combined with endless energy and enthusiasm. The hotel was much better than expected and just right for the trip. The dinners at the Excelsior restauranr were, quite simply, the best had we ever had as included food. There was no "tourist" dull menu and the wine flowed. I was astonished to be offered oysters - I love them and don't get offered them very often. The venue is superb and we were treated to their usual level of service.

Once again, a great trip. Jill Thompson was tremendous as tour manager and everything went like clockwork, including the additional visits to temporary exhibitions. Scott Anderson was also extremely good and very engaging in his approach. The only minor downside was beyond your control - the pick-up place at Gare du Nord, but that is nit-picking. You will certainly be seeing us again. Thank you
Review by Mr Timothy Scott who travelled 21-March-2014
Thoroughly enjoyed trip and would certainly recommend company to others. Hotel good position but decor a litte tired. Scott was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgable but at times he went on too long which didnt give us enough free time in museums and his talks were under prepared and consequently he drifted off his main points. Gill was an excellent manager, calm and efficient and at times you could tell that she was aware of this slight problem. Loved the good quality meals in ThecExcelsior
