Day 1: Fly to Milan and transfer to Parma
Fly from London Heathrow to Milan Linate and transfer to Parma. Evening welcome aperitif in the wine cellar of a historic osteria with tastings of local cured meats and cheese followed by dinner.
Day 2: Full day Parma and afternoon cheese tasting
A morning guided walking tour will show you some of the sights of one of Italy’s most famous cities thanks to two products renowned throughout the world that can only come from this area – Parmesan cheese and Parma ham. But whilst the city is rightly proud of these, it is a wonderful Renaissance city in its own with a wealth of sights, including the 17 century Teatro Farnese, built entirely of wood, the sumptuous Madonna della Steccata with its frescoes, Galleria Nazionale art museum dating from 1752 and the Camera di San Paolo, one of the city’s most remarkable sights with its delightful, frescoed refectory dating from 1514 and the magnificent Duomo and Baptistry. Our tour will with a local guide will include three tastings in historical
shops. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 3: Parma cooking class
Morning cooking class in Parma for hand-on experience to learn traditional recipes.
Day 4: Wine tasting, Parma ham and a gourmet event
Morning visit to a local winery with tastings followed by a visit to local Parma ham producer. Late afternoon aperitif in Piazza Garibaldi followed by the Cena dei Mille – an iconic gourmet event set in the heart of Parma’s historical centre (subject to availability).
Day 5: Cheese and vinegar tastings
Morning visit to a local Parmigiano Reggiano dairy with guided tour and tasting. Early afternoon transfer to Modena for a traditional balsamic vinegar
experience including tastings.
Day 6: Free day in Parma
Full day free to explore independently.
Day 7: Return flight to Heathrow
Free time until we transfer to the airport for the return flight to London Heathrow.
